Pastures and/or hay fields are important parts of many farms.  The   Community Farm of Simsbury  has 21 acres of certified organic hay   fields.  Join UConn's Dairy and  Livestock Extension Educator Rich   Meinert  and NRCS's District  Conservationist James Hyde for a learning,   walk through the farm's  fields to evaluate them for their hay potential   and hear suggested  management strategies for improved quality and   production.
 Joe Bonelli, UConn Extension, will be on on hand to discuss Crop Insurance. Michael Keilty will also be there to talk about the SARE Natural Meat project.
Please dress for walking through the fields. The workshop is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about pasture management.
