Wind Hill Community Farm and Terry Walters

One of Connecticut’s newest community farms is Wind Hill Community Farm in Glastonbury, CT.  The mission of the farm is to offer hands-on experiences in gardening/farming and to promote lifestyle principles of environmental responsibility and healthy nutrition through growing and preserving local produce.  Now in its first year growing, the site itself is 30 –acres and will be home to an organic farm and learning center.
On Monday, May 9th, the farm will be hosting Terry Walters, a nationally-known cookbook author and food activist.  Terry will be speaking about the importance of the national “buy local” clean food movement to our land, our commitment, and ourselves.  She recently finished her second book, Clean Start, a cookbook inspired by eating “minimally processed foods for maximum nutrition”.  The book features 100 recipes made easy for everyone, from beginning cooks to veteran chefs. On her site, http://terrywalters.net/, you’ll find a blog, recipes, and more!  Here's a promo video for Clean Start!
