Between The Lines is an independent weekly syndicated half-hour news magazine featuring “progressive perspectives on national and international political, economic and social issues”. Now in its 20th year, Between the Lines features a five-minute summary of under-reported news stories and three in-depth interviews each week. Since it is independent of all publications, media networks and political parties, Between the Lines is able to provide the listener with a diversity of voices and a platform for those generally ignored by larger media sources.
To celebrate its 20th year, Between The Lines will be hosting a public forum featuring Ralph Nader on Saturday, May 14th, 2011. Mr. Nader is a former independent presidential candidate and citizen activist. He will address the topic of corporate dominance of the U.S. political system and the fight now underway in Wisconsin and around the country to restore democracy. The event will be held at the United Church on the Green at 270 Temple Street in New Haven, CT.
Between The Lines will also be handing out “Democracy in Action” Awards to Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut (for their campaign advocating health care reform in the state) and AFSCME Council 4 (for their actions protecting jobs and benefits of state and municipal workers).
CT NOFA is proud to be a community co-sponsor of this event.
